Join ENGAJ and The Orchard for a special event celebrating Jewish and Asian culture—through mahjong! This event welcomes the LUNAR Collective, a community cultivating belonging and visibility among Asian American Jews. Together we’ll gather round the mahjong table for a brief history lesson exploring how Mahjong made its way from China to the U.S., and became cemented in Jewish American life for more than 90 years.
We’ll get to learn the basics of Hong Kong style mahjong. We’ll provide our traditional treats—coffee, tea, chocolate babka and gluten free muffins–and something special to try in honor of the Lunar New Year.

Join us for the whole megillah—fire, friends, and Purim festivities!
Gather around our glowing fire pit as we usher in the week with a short Havdalah ceremony, then stay to celebrate with delicious, artisan hamantaschen (yes, we're talking the good stuff—no bulk store pastries here!). Sip on signature cocktails and mocktails crafted especially for the evening: the Queen Esther and the Shushan Sunrise.
Bring your own dinner and a cozy blanket to spread out on the lawn. We'll provide the ambiance, the treats, and the drinks—you bring the good vibes and purim spirit! (Costumes are optional, but hey, go for it!)
